Wilshere Wants Trophy Run

by David on January 8, 2013

Jack Wilshere reckons a first piece of silverware in eight years could lead to an avalanche of trophies at the Emirates.

Arsenal kept alive their FA Cup hopes with a 2-2 third-round draw at Swansea on Sunday. Victory for the Gunners in next week’s replay will set up a fourth-round tie at Brighton, and midfielder Wilshere said:

“We all want a trophy. As players when you finish your career, you look back and see how many trophies you’ve won.

“We’re all hungry for it and maybe if we get a trophy this year it can lead to a few more.

“Obviously it is easy to sit here and say that when we get one trophy it will happen — but we need to get that first trophy.

“We are still in the FA Cup and the Champions League. I think we are in a good position, we just need to make sure we get the results now.”

Wenger should be serious about signing of players, expecially a strong and intelligent D/M which the team is lacking, M’vila is available at cut price of just 8m, weger should make this happened in time to make the fans happy.

Wenger should not make tranfers to make Arsenal fans happy. He should sign players that will improve the team. That is his job. Our job is to support our team. Every player that is mentioned in the press is not a tranfer target for Arsenal. Some have insane wages, others are questionable because of the style played in EPL and most just wouldn’t get in the first team. Player hype this time of year is just stupid some times. I agree with getting a left back who can defend and challenge Gibbs and maybe a striker, but who is out there that we can actually get? The same names get thrown around but are they really available. If a player is in form he most likely is playing and is not for sale.
