Wilshere And Sagna Both Play For U21′s

by David on October 9, 2012

Another positive step in the return to full fitness of Jack Wilshere as he played 78 minutes for Arsenal U21s versus Reading on Monday. That is a step up from the hour runout he got last week.

By all accounts Wilshere played well, looking sharp and showing some impressive pace, assisting on two Arsenal goals. First he set up Serge Gnabry for a goal just before half-time and then swung in a corner for Chuba Akpom to get the second in a 2-0 victory after 63 minutes.

If Wilshere keeps progressing he could well start against Reading when the two sides meet in the Capital One Cup at the end of the month.

Bacary Sagna lasted 65 minutes in his first start since May after recovering from a broken leg while Andre Santos played the full 90 minutes trying to keep him match fit after the injury to Gibbs.

I believe you are allowed a couple of over 21′s in the team Michael. Which is why Sagna and Santos could both play
