Will Demba Ba Be The New Arsenal Number 9?

by David on December 17, 2012

Interesting comments from Newcastle United striker Demba Ba, who has praised Arsenal amid reports of a potential move to the Emirates Stadium.

The Senegal international has repeatedly been linked with an exit from St James’ Park after it was revealed that he has a buyout clause of around £7m.

“Arsenal are one of these teams who make you dream,” Ba told Canal+.

“I have nothing to say about the speculation. Nothing is about to happen.

“The press know Arsenal need another striker and also know about my release clause, and make their own mind up about it.”

Ba has scored 11 goals in 18 games for Newcastle this season. I cannot understand why more teams are not more interested in Ba. He is a proven Premier League goalscorer and at £7m is a bargain.

The big question is whether Ba can fit into Arsenal’s style of play? Can he? Would he be a good signing for Arsenal next month?

I think, he is a good signing for Arsenal to solve attacking problem. Because he has a league experience & wonderful goal scourer.

He’s cheap, disloyal and speaks French. Everything Wenger looks for in a future flop.

how does anyone see this as being a sensible buy? Free flowing attack is our answer. Buying Ba would basically mean the giroud was a waste because they’re too similar to both feature. Seeing walcott spearhead the attack today made arsenal look like, well, old arsenal. Having 3 players that can play all 3 spots up top will make us dangerous, especially when rosicky is fully fit being able to exploit our team speed with balls in behind the defense. Giroud gives us a bit different of a look which is what we need when teams sit in and force us far wide into crossing positions.

Why not? If Chamakh and Gervinho are, then why can’t he be? Oh, I’m sorry, I shouldn’t be mentioning Ba’s name, or even bringing him near the same bracket as Chamakh and Gervinho because he’s far better. He should be playing for Arsenal, as, like Drogba, his power is a real disgust to defenders in England and Europe alike!
