There have been rumors for about two years not that Arsenal were interested in signing Bordeaux midfielder Yoann Gourcuff. But Gourcuff terrible World Cup looks to have ended Arsene Wenger’s interest in the player.
“We are not interested and we have never made contact,” Wenger told Telefoot. “He’s a player I like a lot, but we are sufficiently covered in midfield.”
Gourcuff would cost Arsenal €26 million and that is too high a price according to Wenger:
“Regarding Yoann Gourcuff, if I say he is not worth the €26 million Bordeaux demand, they tell me I don’t appreciate him,” Wenger told Journal du Dimanche. “The market has collapsed. There are other players, particularly from Brazil, who are much less expensive than Yoann.”
Interesting comments for Wenger. But I totally agree with him. Gourcuff has never impressed me as a top line player and he is definitely not worth €26 million.

for 26 million euros , we could easily buy the brazilian wonderkid Paulo Henrique Ganso… he is younger, better, much more inteligent on the pitch and a great prospect
