Wenger Says Fabregas Not For Sale

by David on June 14, 2010

Arsene Wenger was quoted in the British press today as once again saying that Cesc Fabregas is not for sale.

When asked about Fabregas’ future, Wenger insists he does not need to speak about his star player and that Arsenal are not looking to do a deal with Barca.

“I don’t need to talk about Cesc,” said Wenger. “He has a deal with Arsenal and we don’t want to sell him. I’ve spoken with Fabregas many times – as with all the players in the World Cup – but never about his future.”

In related news, Barcelona just elected a new president called Sandro Rosell. As expected Rosell’s first statement was:

“When we get together, Laporta (outgoing President) will explain at what stage the Cesc situation is at. If negotiations are advanced and the coaching staff want the player, we will continue with the negotiations, without doubt,”

I wish that someone with money (Man City) would start talking about Messi the way that Real Madrid and Barca talk about players on other teams. It would be interesting to see what there reaction would be when someone starts tapping up their players.

It’s very simple really. Arsenal just need to send a tapping-up complaint to the authorities and that would button Barca right up. We know they’ll (the authorties) do nothing about it but then the penny might drop for Laporte and Xavi.
