Arsène Wenger said that he will wait until after this weekend’s match against Manchester United before assessing his options at left-back.
Arsenal going into the United match without its top two left backs and right backs, plus injuries to Thomas Vermaelen and Francis Coquelin have aggravated the problem.
Wenger has a little over a week to bring in a replacement before the transfer window closes but, for now, he has nothing to report.
“Before Sunday’s game nobody will come in so we will have now to focus on the players [we have],” said Wenger. “I will assess the situation after the game on Sunday but until then nothing will happen now for us.”
My question is what will Arsene Wenger know Sunday night that he does not know now? Is he thinking that if Arsenal win that they still be in touch with Chelsea for that fourth Champions League spot and that he will the left-back problem?
But if Arsenal lose, and drop seven points behind Chelsea, will Wenger not do anything because he doesn’t feel that Arsenal can close the gap to Chelsea?

Arsene wenger should find a solution to the defence line especially the left and right back because djourou and miguel have proved their incapability and lack of confidence leading to two successive defeat in the last 2 Epl matches. With vamaelen not available for arsenal against Man U, there is going be a serious problem in the left back position which might be the wing where Man U will mostly operate and anything order than victory this weekend willtake Arenal further away from chelsea and tothenham thereby reducing our chance of making the top 4 this season. Wenger should try and get sm experience players to fill in the space of the injured players before its too late.

The point is since the england based fans have failed to protest cos it seems the lack the guts to do so, and wenger is coming to Nigeria for preseason, then we should be ready for our protest. God knows how much blood every ardent arsenal fan keeps losing at every match day and even every time we read arsenal news. For all these pains that wenger has inflicted on us, he too should be ready for what nigerian arsenal fans will do to him when he comes for preseason.
