Vermaelen Set For Reserves Game Thursday

by David on April 28, 2011

Thomas Vermaelen is set to make his long-awaited return from injury in Arsenal‘s reserve match against Manchester United on Thursday.

It will be the first time Vermaelen has played a competitive game since suffering an Achilles injury while playing for Belgium in a European Championship qualifier with Turkey in September 2010.

Should Vermaelen come through the match unscathed, manager Arsene Wenger may decide to hand him a place in the first team before the end of the season.

Steady boy, there`s no rush and no body is going anywhere, just ease yourself in and we`ll see you in August.
