Thomas Vermaelen has been ruled out for “two to three weeks” after suffering a calf injury in Wednesday night’s 2-1 defeat at Tottenham. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger told the Arsenal website: “Certainly it is a calf strain. (He will be out for) two to three weeks.”
With Gallas out injured then Arsenal will have to go with Campbell and Silvestre at the back basically the rest of the season. It is quite apparent that Wenger needs to bring in three quality center-halfs this summer. Gallas is out of contract, you cannot expect Campbell to hold up for a full season and Silvestre is no longer good enough.

Wenger is very expereinced especially in the EPL but sometimes I wonder how he does his calculations. I sincerely hope Arsenal does not end up coming 4th. There is still a match with man city, loosing two more matches could be sometime else. Arsenal does not have real players not to talk of back ups (maybe players from the reserves). You cannot win the EPL or any more competition in Europe with that kind of set up. A combination of Campbell and Silvestre will put all the presures on the goalkeeper and the other two defenders. It will also mean all the players defending preventing rather than think of scoring. I am sure Arsenal will be in the same situation next season.
i actually concur with you in fact campbell and silvestre thy are not good enough to rely on
Well,I’d usually say what a hammer blow to our title chances but after the scum beat us and ended our season it really is depression time for me ,I actually believed we were the favourites,Anyway as for Verminatior I honestly think he was the signing of the season and we will are looking at our future skipper.
