Some interesting quotes coming form Arsenal and Mexico forward Carlos Vela this week.
Vela was quoted as saying:
“It was difficult for me this year. I didn’t have many opportunities when I was fit. Afterward, many injuries didn’t allow me to be in good form. But I believe I still have time to get ready.”
Vela missed two one-on-one chances in Mexico’s 3-1 loss to England on Monday and he has too see the writing on the wall after Arsenal signed Marouane Chamakh last week.
“I’m only concentrated on playing for Mexico and having a good World Cup, and having a good World Cup can open many doors. If not at Arsenal, we’ll see where.”
As we saw on Monday, Vela is not clinical enough in front of goal to play at the highest level. It is ok scoring goals in the Carling Cup, but he has not shown that he can score them on a regular basis in the Premier League.
I would expect that after the World Cup Vela will be sold, probably to a Spanish team.

David, Vela is twenty,an international and learning his trade. He wont be sold for missing 2 chances, otherwise we’d need to sell all our strikers if we went on yur assessmnent and conclusions. Likely, a loan.
Vela + 20ish mil for David Silva.
(I know.. I know.. I’m dreaming. But isn’t that what summers are for? heh)
Sounds like he wants to play. Are you a supporter of Arsenal fc ? Nuff of the negativity. Haangeland’s coming, and the whole squad is one year better. Everyone else is skint, we’ve got a new Stadium, 35 top youths, and half of Highbury’s accommodation. Enjoy the ride! Van Persie is TOPS as is Chamack (perfect fit) and we’re gunna kik som butt this season, that’s why the hacks are fretting about players leaving. WE ARE SITTING PRETTY FULL STOP
Billiken – that would be stupid as vela has the talent to be as, if not more effective than david silva.
