Ray Parlour says Arsenal must get rid of Arshavin

by David on January 24, 2012

Harsh words from Ray Parlour om Monday that he believes the sooner Andrey Arshavin moves away for Arsenal the better for both club and player.

The decision to bring Arshavin on against Manchester United was met with boos at the Emirates and while many fans have criticised Arsene Wenger for the decision but former Highbury favourite Parlour claims the fault lies squarely at the ex-Zenit St. Petersburg midfielder’s door.

“He’s not for me,” Parlour told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast. “Arsene Wenger trains with them every day and must see something in him that can affect the team though. Arshavin looks disinterested in playing though. I don’t know if it’s because he doesn’t get enough chances or he’s not getting enough football. I don’t know what the situation is but the quicker he moves on the better for Arsenal, and probably himself. He’s not playing on a regular basis. He must be frustrated and when he does get his chance he doesn’t really take it. He comes on and he’s not interested in the game. I wouldn’t have put him on but I’m not the manager.”

i would rather not encourage people to criticise Arsene wenger but to encourage him to buy good players other than going for left overs( people that out of contract from previous clubs and wenger must know that fans make the club not him . bse fans bring in money and wenger takes the salary .so wake up wenger)

I think Ox_Chamberlain would have lasted another ten minutes.

To be honest when gervinho returns arshavin could find himself as 4th choice winger and to be honest i would rather see benayoun rosicky ryo watt or even afobe out there. when gibbs and santos are both fit i think i would even consider one of them.instead of arshavin. for me he has just reached the end of the road with us. he has become an eboue like figure. if we are lucky we could bag 6-8m now for him which we could spend on a direct replacement or cissokho then as i say moving someone else up. but as we have seen this season would it hurt to have 3 left backs?

thank u Parlor what u have said, every fan of arsenal club know very well that arshavin is not interested and should have moved long ago in the summer. the boos we saw are just a way the fans were expressing their dissatisfaction. all human beings make mistakes but to refuse to listen to others is the worst crime wenger is doing to the fans and AFC. With all the injuries
