The story seems to change om a daily basis, but at least today, it seems that Arsenal want to add a couple of players in the January transfer window.
After the West Ham game today Wenger was asked by ITV1 about his January transfer plans:
“I don’t know…a player or two. We’ll try to be in the market. As many people say – I have the money, I have the desire, but I do not have the player.”
One player that Arsenal apparently is not targeting is Klaas Jan Huntelaar:
“No [I am not in for him]. I am surprised he never plays but he is not on our radar. [Anyway] I don’t believe that this kind of player can move. I am not sure [he] can move again in this transfer period because he has moved already once this season.”
As for the status of Bordeaux forward Marouane Chamakh, Wenger said:
“Chamakh will stay in Bordeaux until the end of the season. Then he will go where he wants to go because he will be completely free. He could [sign a pre-contract agreement] but there is nothing concrete at all between us and Chamakh. He is completely free at the end of the year and I have not been in touch with his agent at all. It came up in June and it’s true that in June I wanted to take him but since we had no contact at all.”

The initial quote has been taken massively out of context.
Wenger was asked “Will you sign a player or two?” and he replied “I don’t know [about] a player or two [but] we’ll TRY to be in the market”.
Thus Wenger has NOT said he will buy in January, but he will try.

Any idea who will play right back in case Sagna is injured? I dont think that Gilbert is ready yet. Perhaps AW would ask Ramsey?
