Marouane Chamakh is “counting the days” until he finally becomes an Arsenal player.
The 26-year old Morocco international scored 15 goals for Bordeaux this season and is set to join Arsenal on a reported £50,000-a-week a week deal when his contract expires in 11 days.
In an interview with the French newspaper L’Equipe Chamakh said:
“I am delighted to join the English football atmosphere, it is something amazing. I love Arsenal’s game. I know I will have to adapt but I know the short passing game. In February, I made my decision. A departure clause (in a potential new Bordeaux contract) was not logical after refusing Arsenal last summer.”
“For my last matches with Bordeaux I can feel a lot of emotion, but I am leaving for a new challenge. At Bordeaux I was the club’s child. In London, I won’t be a kid anymore. I have grown, I have things to prove and I am motivated to achieve it.”
The forward maintained he had rejected several other offers from other Premier League clubs to sign for Arsenal.
“There were approaches from Liverpool, Tottenham and offers of madness from Russia which were much greater than those from England, but I was focused on playing in the Premier League. I took a risk to stay with one year left on my contract, but I never cheated, I gave myself thoroughly”
So Chamakh takes care of Arsenal’s attacking needs, although I would still like to see Arsenal bring in another forward like Nice striker Loic Remy with Eduardo possibly leaving.
Now all we need to do is fix the defence and goalkeeping issues!

but 15 goals out of 45 matches this season is not a good profile becouse we already have strikers who can do that
Okonkwo we need need every fresh blood we can get in this team, what do you think?Chamakh js gonna help us a lot next season
he is a very hard working forward and i believe he will get more goal scoring opertunities in arsenal
That’s brilliant 4 arsenal bringin in Chamahk 2 d team he is a deft n we hop hd perform wonders.peeeace out
Chamakh will be a good signing but we still need 3 or 4 players more to sign
Not a good enough player I’m afraid! Nowhere near prolific enough. Wenger must do better!!!
I doubt Chamakh will even start the season in the first team, i reckon Wenger will ease him in gently, Still our bench can always do with improvement, did you see the scum bench last night?
I too think Eduardo should go, he needs to test himself every week and that is not going to happen at Arsenal. Vela is another that could find himself squeezed out, he just cannot seem to take his chances either. I reckon we will start the season with this forward line.
RVP-RVP-Arshavin
obviously 2 RVP’s would be fantastic lol
Walcott-RVP-Arshavin
(Bendtner & Chamakh on the bench)
good! this guy already know arsenal problem both in defence and attack.
is he gonna play on the left?
For what ive seen on youtube im not really that impressed, what else do you people know about him…ive noticed thats he is good on the head, and that his work rate is good…but what else?
When Wenger bought Vermaelen last year the same talking,Is Vermaelen good or not?Hate me or Love me Chamakh is quality,I rest my case
Hey let get this guy his gonanna help us.
This would keep me happy:
Lloris
G Cahill
Sandro
David Villa
out:
Bendtner
Denilson
Silvestre
Eduardo
Wenger knows Arsenal needs to sign “quality” this summer.Despite of that,he definitely would not sign a average striker.I have seen Chamakh play. This lad is just too good with headers and has a awesome ball control. He might not have the most power full kicks to show us,but he has, what we need.I bet,he will produce atleast 20-25 goals next season, and remember,he is joining us on a free transfer!!(30.75 for berbatov who has scored 12 and has missed 120 shitters which i and you could have scored!
WENGER CANT GO WRONG!!
KEEP THE FAITH
IN ARSENE WE TRUST!!!!!!!!
that guy is good (charmack). i hope that wenger means it this time.
