Latest Fabregas To Barcelona Rumors

by David on May 20, 2010

Fabregas Looking TiredLots of different opinions in the media and what is going on in Fabregas transfer saga.

It appears that Fabregas told Arsene Wenger in a meeting on Tuesday that he wants to move to Barcelona, but he has not submitted a formal written transfer request. There are reports in Marca that Barca have already agreed contract terms with Fabregas’s agent.

All that is left to be settled is the size of the transfer fee and that is where it gets a but sticky. Some reports say that Arsenal are willing to sell Fabregas to Barcelona but only for £80m. Reports say that Barcelona are willing to pay £30m (which is probably their opening bid).

In order to bridge the £50m valuation gap Barca will have to throw in players. The names most often mention are Yaya Toure, Alexander Hleb and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Toure would be a good fit for Arsenal, but I get the feeling he is looking to move to Eastlands and the riches of Man City. I would be shocked is Wenger took Hleb back, he does not usually take former players back (Campbell is the exception) and I just don’t rate Ibrahimovic. He does not have the finishing skills to be successful in the Premier League.

So as it typical of transfer negotiations, the two sides are far apart at the moment, but I still expect them to work out a deal with £50m and a player moving to The Emirates for Fabregas.

Let fabregas go, his not the first to leave, Arsenal does not exist because of one player. Wenger will handle.

I recall as being linked with Caceres not long back.

I wouldn’t be too dissapointed with 50mil and him. He’s not a bad choice as a backup and is a utility defender that can play all along the back. Juventus want to extend his loan apparently but I’m sure there could be a way to bring him.

The thing that annoys me is they probably won’t sell Toure to us unless we sell Fabregas, annoying as we’ve given them a lot of our players in the past at a reasonable rate.
I doubt Toure wants to be a makeweight but if we genuinely went in for him you never know.

I agree. His mind is no longer at the Emirates, let him go before he becomes a burden next session. Arshavin, Gallas and whoever can go too and in time so we can get a perfect replacement. Though Wenger refuses to admit that he has a problem, I will continue to support The Gunners till an act of God bring back the trophies to the Emirates. May God bless Arsenal and all its supporters. Amen.

No point in keeping a player who doesn`t want to be wearing the arsenal shirt, let fabregas go, wenger obviously will already have a replacement in mind.

Except that not one of those rumours is true. It’s why nothing more concrete has been heard on the matter.

So will you stop writing about this rubbish?

Even Sky Sports is backing away from the story.

Cesc will be with us next season. Unless you actually don’t want him to be.

Is that your agenda?

Wow. This pile of Fab 2 Barca rubbish, started by Guile-em Bagshite, is getting really out of hand, and its not being helped by news blogs such as yours! At least normal blogs don’t count, they publish once a day, but news blogs publishing every four minutes on newsnow are just fueling this Sky Sport funded shite! Please, why don’t you report on some other stuff.

Apparently the incoming president at barca (Sandro Rosell? I think?) has said that they seriously need to look at the “strati spherical level of debt in the club” which as I see it is, all Arsenal need to do is drag this out until this guy becomes the president because it seems as if they don’t have the money, and it appears Laporta is making sure that when he leaves the new fella doesn’t have a pot to piss in when he takes office, I get the feeling Cesc is just a pawn in the game of these 2 guys?

For goodness sake Cesc aint even leaving – trust me it’s all media tripe! Wenger and Fab have not even been in the same country let alone the same room for “showdown talks”. It’s all bollox. Cesc is not leaving this summer, I am amazed how many people have just swallowed this story about Fabregas. Unbelievable. We are The Arsenal – KEEP THE FAITH!

i really doubt we’ll get 50 mil AND a player. more likely the total value of the transfer would amount to 50, like 30 mil + a player. toure would be my choice but it seems he’s not coming, so i’m not sure who wenger would go for if he has the choice.

Seriously, I literally can not believe some of the shit I’ve read across the web this week. Fans condemning both Fabregas and Wenger for a conversation that never happened. Since when did anyone actually listen to what journalists say? Especially when their stories are unfounded speculation without even a hint of insider knowledge. Usually there’s at least some manipulated or fabricated quotes, this time not even that, and people are all worked up. Don’t you realize that this is exactly what Barcelona want to happen?

If cesc feels joining barca is best for him, let him go. I believe he has given more than enough for arsenal in the past years with nothing or little to show. It is always the desire of a player to win trophies and glories, arsenal has failed to give cesc this and if he feels barca can, let him go and try his luck cause i believe he deserves the glories.
Arsene can always fill in the gap cesc will create cause that is part of his duty.

for heaven’s sake, must we always sell a player to buy another when we are not lyon. i believe it high time we turned the table on all these wolves by bidding for their best palyers as well. If barca want cesc, lets bid forpedro bojan and puyol altogether. i mean why cant arsenal realise dat if we pay 40mil for a torres, we will make it back from jersey sales alone. there are a lot of good players wenger can buy to add to the squad; altintop frm bayern, loan benz or kaka from madrid, pay 25mil to roma for de rossi etc. i am tired of supportin a club with less ambitions.

Yaya will never play 4 Arsenal, nothin has actualy been said by either side publicly or proven, AW is on holiday and not even in the country by several reliable sources which means that every rumer out there is shit and even if not barca will not pay the money we want and our captain will still be there 4 at least 1 more season! i just hope we buy EDEN HAZARD he is amazing and only 19 i think

It’s not easy to miss Fabri.Look back the players arsenal missed: Henry,Flamini,Hleb,… if they were with us we could make a difference. If Fabri is to go we don’t have guarantee that other players like Song will not go.Missing Fabri is unbelievable for me.I guess Arsene Wenger shall buy two or three super stars to stop Fabri’s move.

Arsenal could take the price down 40m and buy 2 of the players barca offered.
Yaya looks to be on his way out and Ibra-Rubbish (Ibrahimovic) isn’t happy about being on the bench in the last game of the season. Can it happen? I support Barca come on C.Fabregas come!!! This summer!!!!!!! By the way even though I support barca Ibreahimovic is still rubbish in my opinion!
