According to the Mail on Sunday, Arsenal will make an improved bid for for Everton defender Phil Jagielka this week.
Arsenal have already had a bid of £10m rejected by Everton, but are prepared to offer £15m for the 27-year-old centre-half.

What for £15million????????? I don;t think so… this is a non starter. AW simply will not pay this amount for someone of Jagielka’s ability, and I agree. He’s worth £8 million tops!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is a bit rich I agree, but I guess if you are Everton and managed to get £22m for Joleon Lescott last summer, then why not ask £15million for Jagielka?

£15G For Phil ? You got to be kidding. AW won’t pay that much for a average centre-half. He’d rather buy 4 under-16 from French League 2 and save 5 million for future plans.
phil is english and english are very expensive, so am not suprised if everton place that price tag on him.
Adding Jagielka To our squad is very important, it is good to have two matured players in every position in football. Because luck of substitution led s to empty seasons for the fast 5 years.

that’s pretty much expensive and i don’t think he is the solution to our defensive problem.Arsenal should rather go for Metersacker who i think is a top quality and would add much to the desfense line because he is of top quality…………….take a look at his perfomance at the just concluded world cup and you will see what i mean

The Everton fans I have seen rate Jagielka far above Lescott. They watch every game and they love him. I say spend the cash. Arsenal are the third biggest football team in the world financially. Lets get who we need so we can win the double……

I think 15million is too much for Jagielka, he’s worth around 6 to 10 million. AW should not paid that amount, he should get someone not that expensive but willing and ready to make their own name, people, we are talking about arsenal here. We enstablish players, We dont buy enstablish players.
Verma cost us arround 10mpds yet he is far better than Jagielka, just bring in Mertashscker he is a proven defender as seen in the world cup and i heard he will cost around 10mpds.AW just hurry so that he joins his teamates in austria.

Jags for 15mil? mennnn dat’s ridiculous…it is cos he’s english? Citey has messed up the transfer market with outrageous sums for average players(Lescott 25mill last season). Honestly, i prefer Metresacker or @ worst Boughera(cos he’ll cost less than Jagielka and to me they’re on the same level.

15 millions you might be kidding. We paid 4 million for Gallas; 10 millions for Vermaelen who are top quality and Jaglieka who?? 8 millions is more than enough!!!! I can not stop to see everywhere we need english talents breaking through the top flight…Top managers not buying enough English players….
