It is amazing to me that when players go away during these International breaks the amount of rumors that suddenly bubble up into the press.
The big story whenever Spain gets together is always the Fabregas to Barcelona rumors. This week Xavi was the latest Barcelona player to come out and say that it would be a dream to play with Cesc and Barca. With Fabregas’s background at Barca, these stories are inevitable and they will grow stronger as the World Cup draws nearer, as the Spanish press will have more time to create stories. Do I think that Fabregas will spend his whole career at Arsenal? No. At some pint I expect him to return to Spain. I hope that it is not for another couple of years.
Speaking of Barcelona, Arsenal are reportedly tracking Barcelona’s young winger Gai Assulin. The 18-year-old, who made his Israel debut at 16, turned down a move to Chelsea in 2007, but has not signed the new deal that Barca have offered him.
