Iker Casillas To Arsenal?

Fascinating story on Marca,com that Real Madrid captain Iker Casillas has caught the attention of Arsene Wenger and Arsenal.

Marca writes that Arsène Wenger isn’t happy with the performances put in by Szczesny and that Iker would be an ideal signing for the Gunners. There are also rumours in England that Real Madrid could be interested in De Gea, in anticipation that Casillas will leave ‘Los Blancos’.

What’s certain is that one of Arsenal’s main problems recently has been between the sticks, with the side unable to find a reliable keeper who meets the requirements of a team that aims to win every tournament it enters.

Now this is the silly season, when all sort of crazy rumours fly about. But what makes this interesting is the source.

Marca is well known as being extremely close to Real Madrid. It is almost the unofficial newspaper of the club.

So a story that has the Spanish and Real Madrid captain linked with a move to Arsenal will ruffle more than a few feathers in the Spanish capital.

The unknown question is whether those close to Casillas are using Marca to fire a shot at Jose Mourinho, who is at odds with his goalkeeper at the moment?

But it is not secret that Arsene Wenger has been looking to bring another goalkeeper in to challenge Szczesny. I have heard that Wenger still likes Pepe Reina, but why go for Spain;s third or fourth best goalkeeper, when their is the potential of getting the best goalkeeper in the world?
