Not a big surprise that Fran Merida has officially left Arsenal to join Europa League Champions Atletico Madrid.
Merida, came to Arsenal in 2006 from the fabled Barcelona youth team. But unlike Fabregas, Merida was unable to crack the first team squad, managing only four substitute appearances in the Premier League last season.
The highlight of Merida’s stay at Arsenal was probably this goal against Liverpool
