Looking at the predictions of the upcoming season on the BBC the consensus seems to be that Arsenal will finish third again this season behind Chelsea and Manchester United.
What do you think of these predictions? Where will Arsenal finish this season?
Yes we all want the Gunners to win the league, but is that a realistic goal with this squad as it is comprised?

to dam right we can win it,we will win it.Its a super squad.

2.M.City
3.Chelsea
4.Liverpool
5.M.United
Yeah i think third or fourth but it will be hard to stay in the top 4 i think, we probably need 2 or 3 more signings to stay in the top 4. The problem i think is that Wenger is under no pressure to deliver anything other than champions league qualification and as long as he delivers that every season then the board and the AKB brigade will be happy enough
i believe arsenal can win the league with this squad they just need to buy at a least defender and a keeper
i think we can win the league because we have enough quality in the squad and with a little bit of luck and no injuries to key players i believe we can do it.
No need to bring in. Let the underperformers go and exploit the youth. Should recover J Simpson, might loose a Andy Cole in him.
I do fear another season at 3rd or 4th mostly from two things right now, no new keeper and the god awful amount of injuries we already have.
We COULD win the League with the present squad but only if the newly elevated tots come good and we only have average injuries for once.
As usual the squad is lacking the depth needed to challenge for the title, though who knows, we may be surprised with a couple of new signings before the transfer window closes, but I’m not convinced even that’ll be enough.
We’re starting the season with:
* 2 fully fit strikers, one, a new boy with no EPL experience & the other the 4th choice striker from last season.
* In central defence we’ve got Verminator + a new signing with no EPL or Champions league experience.
* In central mid-field 4 of our experienced 1st & second choice players are either,
lacking fitness or carrying injuries. The first game of the season might see us fielding 2 players that have never started a first team game.
* In goal we’ve got 2 keepers that no one wants.
At the moment, back up in all of these area’s is from the youngsters, most of whom have minimal EPL experience.
Yes we’ll have players comming back from injury & reaching match fitness but if recent history has anything to tell us it’s that AFC has more than it’s share of injuries & that for every one player that comes back we’ll lose one or two to the treatment room.
I’m excited to see the excellent crop of young players who’ve been promoted to the first team & the two new signings but this scenario doesn’t fill me with great confidence. If we are blighted by our usual injury load & the players that promised much (but generally failed to deliver last season) don’t step up a gear or two (Bendtner, Vela, Walcott, Diaby, Denilson, Rosicky, Clichy) then top 4 will be a big ask.
We can win the premier league this season just as we are. Leagues are not won in the transfer market but on the pitch.
Our team are young and up coming. A lot of our opponents have ageing teams. A year improves a young team and depreciates an ageing. Chelsea and Man U are in this category. They have not done much better than us in the transfer market. We have a good number of promising youngsters that have come into the first team. They are like new signings to us. We may not value Wilshire much but Owen Coyle courted his return to Bolton on a season long loan. Capelo may not be joking when he invited him into the national team. He knows something about him that many of us do not know.
RVP is available again and will not be hampered by injury because he has had his fair share of that “commodity”.
In conclusion, third place is not it, first place is it.
