One of the common themes in comments this week has been that Arsenal have a great chance to win some trophies this season, if everyone stays fit.
So the last thing I wanted to see was the news that Nicklas Bendtner has undergo groin surgery and is set be out of action for anywhere between four and eight weeks. This injury appears to be different than the earlier groin injury that sidelined Bendtner previously this season.
If Bendtner is out to the new year, then that puts a lot of pressure on Van Persie to stay healthy. Behind RVP is Eduardo and then a lot of potential.
With eight goals in 15 games this season, Van Persie has been terrific this season and is the hardest man to replace on the squad. We have seen how Liverpool have struggled when Torres is injured, and RVP is just as valuable to the Gunners as Torres is to Liverpool.

Thank God he is injured.
Now we have a chance of doing something this year!
Other than giving the ball away and missing the target!!!!!
Zeki ur a mug! Simple.
I agree with Zeki, Bendtner is the worst player on arsenal, does nothing but miss glorious chances, has scored a couple lucky goals but overall a horrible display. I do not know what Arsene sees in him, and how he can start ahead of Eduardo, the two aren’t even comparable. Eduardo is pure class, Bendtner shit!!!
Why is everyone so ready to critise the Arsenal player’s even when they are playing well. Bentnder is going to be world class and can be our Zlatan. he has good speed, strength, ball control and passing range for a 22 YEAAR OLD! I bet zlatan was scoring the same amount of goals when he was that age. Give him time, he will be world class, by the time he coms around robin will be 30, eduardo 30 and arshavin 32. He walcott and Vela can take it from there while RVP takes a Berkamp type role. Till then Bentdner will elarn and provide good ariel power variety to our game.
Daniyal- I totally agree with you. I’ve been trying to convince people of this for a long time now. Bendtner will be a world beater. I think Arsenal fans have been spoiled by worldclass talent that develops way earlier than most: ie. Cesc! Am I the only one that watched Henry’s first season or so? He wasn’t that good looking but he showed a lot of potential. And Wenger has proven when it comes to identifying talent he has no equal. If he says a player can be worldclass i’m inclined to believe him. I’m not saying Bendtner will be as good as Henry but who knows. He definitely reminds me of Zlatan though. And he gives us a different dimension and look in attack. He shouldn’t start ahead of Eduardo (who is one of my favorite strikers ever) but he should play for sure. The last thing we need is more injuries to strikers.
Strikers and centerbacks, neither can we afford to loose
keep it goonerish
Bendtner has been named best player in Denmark for helping his national team qualify for the WC , he scored a lot of goals and his team was above teams like Portugal. Unfortunately some Arsenal fans don`t value him, he brings A LOT to arsenal , his passing isn`t as bad as people mention here (just try to observe him objectively next time you`d be surprised), and he brings aerial power up front but also while defending on set pieces. His positioning is good , that`s why he is always at the right place, sure he can miss some chances , but he`s only , I don`t think Drogba was half as good as Bendtner at 21 !! He`ll improve and you`ll be chanting his name soon. Be patient wit him , as soon as he starts scoring , he`ll gain confidence. Please stop criticizing your players, look at Eboue , he`s one of the most important players at Arsenal right now because of his versality , the guy can play everywhere !!!!
