The Daily Mail is reporting that Arsenal have signed a highly rated 16-year-old Brazil forward called Wellington Silva.
Silva is one of Brazil’s best young players and has played in the Under 17 World Cup and Under 17 South American Championship.
His agent Rodrigo Pitta is quoted as saying:
“We completed the transaction last week, the player is already Arsenal’s and Fluminense have already received some money.”
Before you start to get excited about Silva joining the Gunners, he cannot arrive until he turns 18 in January 2011. Arsenal are believed to have already paid 65% of the transfer fee to Fluminense already with the balance due when he arrives at The Emirates in a year.
