Reports out of Spain suggest that Athletic Bilbao central defender Fernando Amorebieta could make a move to Arsenal this summer after the club withdrew their contract offer.
Amorebieta has been in contract talks with Athletic since the summer, but the club were not willing to give the 27-year-old defender the higher wages he wanted.
So after failing to sigh their five-year €1.8m offer, Athletic withdrew the offer, and AS says that Arsenal may come in with a contract offer of their own and swoop the Venezuelan international for a reduced fee in June.
Central defence is certainly a need that Arsene Wenger needs to address this summer and by all accounts Fernando Amorebieta is a good player.
