Arsène Wenger has revealed the latest team news ahead of Sunday’s FA Cup clash against Aston Villa.
on Bacary Sagna…
Bacary Sagna is back in full training. Many players who are not specialist right backs have been playing in this position so we are relieved to have Bacary back.
on Mikel Arteta…
He is very close to full training, Thierry Henry as well.
on Kieran Gibbs…
He will be back to full training on Monday. He will certainly not be involved at all on Sunday.
on Francis Coquelin…
He is back in the squad, he is available. That makes him, Henry, Bacary and Arteta back in contention for the squad.
on Jack Wilshere…
He has had a little setback that is under investigation at the moment so I cannot give you how long he will be out for. At the moment he is seeing a specialist and as soon as we know more we will communicate. It sets him back a little bit but for how long I don’t know. It is the same foot but a different problem to the injury he had surgery on back in September. But is it an inflammation? We have to wait a little bit.
on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain…
He is alright, it was just fatigue. His calf was not gone or anything like that, he just started to tire a little bit. It is normal for a guy who plays a game at that intensity. But health-wise he has no problem. He will be involved on Sunday.
on Johan Djourou…
He has still not practiced today. It is a small hamstring problem – but a minor one.
on the overall position…
At the moment, many players are on their way back. I will have to decide on Saturday, I have to look at them and see how much of a gamble I can take because we play again on Wednesday. Gibbs will certainly not be involved at all on Sunday, but the others could be involved. That will be decided tomorrow.
It will be good to get Sagna back in the line-up as Arsenal have really missed him since he got injured. Gibbs sounds like he is only a couple of weeks away from returning and that will be a big boost also.

l wish all the guys a speedy recoveries because Arsenal is strugling especially in central Alex song need help.
Jack, Ateta, Henry, Gibbs, Sagna, Santos i wish u all quick recovery….but Djourou thank God sagna is back, if you like recover frm injury u are on ur own. Enough of spoiling our game.

That’s nt a fair comment on a player who was playing out of his usual position. Atleast he covered 4 d injured Sagna!

I dont no why everybody are just talking about Djuoru, been playing the right back, can you bring John Terry or Fedinand to play from right back even though they are all injure in there team still there coach use them on where they belong,cos they cant play anywhere apart from there wing so why everybody complaining about this poor guy,i could remember that day that the two goals came from verminator wing why because he cant play that wing more like the way his playing his central,then check out Nani and Valencia wish one is more skillful or call one of our defender that could face Nani on his day,i think we should blame the coach that refuse to get a good substitute for each position,will you not prefer djourou to jakinsin,how many run can Djourou run before the coach put him there to run against Nani so pls let him be,that’s нσ you guys complain about Senderose now his enjoin his football at fulham that hammer us
