As expected, Arsenal have confirmed that Abou Diaby will be out of action for three weeks due to a thigh injury he picked up against Chelsea at the weekend. With Mikel Arteta facing a fitness test ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League match against Olympiakos, the Gunners midfield suddenly looks painfully thin.
Not a surprise that Diaby is injured again, he has already missed the 6-1 victory against Southampton earlier this season with a hip problem. Over the last eight seasons, Diaby has started just 87 Barclays Premier League starts, due to an incredible 14 separate injuries.
Diaby will miss Arsenal’s trip to West Ham United on Saturday evening and he should be fit to face Norwich City at Carrow Road on October 20th.
It seems that Wenger’s gamble on the health of Diaby is proven to be a bad bet. Will Wenger go out and buy another midfielder in January to cover for Diaby, or will be hope that the return of Frimpong and Wilshere is like making two new signings?

Diaby no doubt is a star in making, however ongoing injuries has hampered his chances over m over again. Wenger should reduce him to play 45 or 60 mins not to a full game since he is so injury prone
he is not contemplating leaving Arsenal now, but when he manage to finish a full season without injury and scoring like 20 goals and several assist, then he will start questioning the club ambition and that he wanted to leave due to lack of top players signings. We are still sticking with him now, but when we need him to stick with us then he will be saying we are not Ambitious enough. Just like that traitor RVP done to us
