A Serie A Side Is Eying Up An Arsenal Striker

by David on July 7, 2012

This is not a Robin van Persie to Juventus story. I am pretty confident that he has already agreed to go to Manchester City.

Instead, a couple of newspapers in France are reporting that Fiorentina are interested in taking Marouane Chamakh off Arsenal’s hands for £4million for Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh.

The Sun reports that a source close to Chamakh said:

“The Italian option is very attractive.”

The signings of Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud have made Chamakh surplus requirement at the Emirates, as long as Arsenal get in a replacement for van Persie. If a replacement for van Persie is not brought in, then Arsenal could be forced to keep Chamakh or Bendtner.

The reason is numbers. Last season Arsenal had six strikers in their squad. We know that Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gervinho, Podolski and Giroud will be in the squad for sure. Assuming Theo Walcott’s contract gets done, he becomes number five. That leaves one spot for Park, Vela, Chamakh, Bendtner, Miyaichi, or a new signing.

Chamakh should leave in his own interest. He has to get playing time which I don’t think he will get @ Arsenal.I’d Arsenal kept Bendtner than Chamakh. Vela should be given a chance since he had very limited chance to play. The time is now right to promote Afobe just like Welbeck’s own.

Frustrating right cos it gets right to your brain.

For those fans that is optimistic that Wenger will change his policy is daydreaming. RVP is nothing without Arsenal and Wenger. He is just one ogf the many cronies that is slaved to the Sheikh.

His timing of releasing this negative news is a pschological game to force Arsenal to sell him as he is turning 30 next year and his value will drop by then. Le Professor is better then that to know. Giroud is brought in to rpelace him actually.
