That is what Arsene Wenger said on Arsenal.com today saying that he expects to sign a new defender before the end of the World Cup on July 11th.
“No, we are not close at the moment,” said Wenger. “We are quiet. But there will be something happening before the end of the World Cup – certainly on the defensive side.”
Wenger has been in South Africa doing commentary on French TV, but with them returning from the World Cup next week, Wenger will have some extra time to get that defender signed.
